Theory and Research
A common leadership myth is that leaders are born, not made. We believe that every Mason student has the capacity to be a leader and will be a leader at some point in their lives. The SEED Leadership Program is based on theory and research about how leaders develop and succeed.
The SEED Leadership Program incorporates elements from a variety of leadership theories including the Social Change Model (SCM), Relational Leadership Model (RLM) and Leadership Identity Development Model (LID). In addition, the four Learning Stages of the model are based Experiential Learning theory.
